The Unit Value Trade System is a market leading software application that provides unit value pricing and trading capabilities to the variable product industry. It has been in production for more than ten years at insurance and annuity companies throughout the United States and Canada.

This system performs the following functions:
  1. Calculates daily unit values for all active funds defined to the system, based upon the daily entry of net asset values, mil rates, dividends, and capital gains (both short term and long term).
  2. Allows for the global specification of various factors and expenses (by product) as well as the capability to unbundle charges at the individual product fund level.
  3. Updates an administration system's unit value file on a daily basis for each product. This process is automated for systems with various Indexed files, fixed ASCII files, and/or relational databases, and can easily be adapted to other formats.
  4. Updates a voice response system with daily unit values for all active product funds.
  5. Calculates trade activity for all active funds defined to the system, based upon the daily entry of purchase and redemption activity for each fund. Additionally, the system will calculate and include all applicable Adjustments, Reconciliation, Mortality and Expenses, and Administrative Charges.
  6. Provides full taxlot processing (Average, FIFO, and LIFO) with automatic fund locking for all shareholder investments as well as seed money investments.
  7. Allows for the tracking of Seed Money at the separate account level.
  8. Stores all unrealized/realized gain/loss calculations with cost basis and cost of sales calculations at the separate account level.
  9. Stores all dividend reinvestment, short term gain, and long term gain information separately at the separate account level.
  10. Provides a user specified Dividend Posting Mode. This feature will prompt the user for a dividend during the net asset value entry process if a dividend has been scheduled.
  11. Provides the ability to process daily net asset value and multi-product trade information in a batch mode through the input of fixed ASCII data files. An optional processing component is included to provide automated NSCC connectivity. These automated processes are fully compatible with electronic beeper notification systems.
  12. Produces the following reports on-line and in batch. All reports can be directed to printers or individual text files:

Unit Value Worksheet Report (Details of the unit value calculation process)
Unit Value Summary Report (Calculated unit values for each fund)
Pending NAV Report (Summary of pending NAV activity)

  13. Produces a generic daily accounting extract both on-line and in batch. This extract creates journal entries at both the separate account and product levels.
  14. Provides on-line unit value fund performance in percent change, actual change, and annualized yield formats.
  15. Provides on-line and batch high and low unit value fund performances for twelve month and year-to-date periods, or for a specifically requested date range.
  16. Provides a dynamic on-line data extract facility. This feature allows the user to create and save multiple extract layouts in both "Comma Separated Value" and "Text" formats. These extracts can then be generated on-line and in batch with user constraints including date, company, product, and fund.
  17. Provides for the ability to automatically recalculate and reprocess incorrect net asset values, daily mil rates, dividends, short term capital gains and long term capital gains. Additionally, full audit reporting can be produced automatically or on request.
  18. Provides a comprehensive SEC Filing (Unit Value Performance) reporting and extracting capability. Each of three SEC Filing Tables is produced containing one year, five year, and since inception (or ten year) performance returns assuming various optional purchase payment enhancement, pro-rated administrative fee, and/or aged surrender charge assumptions.
  19. Provides an interactive Fund Substitution facility. This automated process recalculates all historical NAV information and updates all respective share balances and trade history.
